Lawyer in Kent

Finding the right lawyer can be challenging especially if you are looking for one locally, I recently had this issue as I live in Maidstone and wanted to find somewhere relatively close in Kent.  I mainly needed a lawyer in Kent to help me with employment issues as I have recently started my own company and need advice on various employment regulations.

After lots of searching I came across the perfect lawyer in Kent who also covered commercial law, and could help private clients with conveyancing, divorce or personal disputes, so if I have any other problems not relating to employment I can also use the same lawyers in Kent.

Internet and email legality

I have recently come across some information regarding emails and the internet damaging business reputation.  You or your employees could be sued or face charges due to improper use of the internet, so it is important to think before you click.

When emailing or using social media, your employees need to make sure that they are not writing inappropriate information that can be shared with others.  According to Gullands inMaidstone emails and internet postings can be used against you legally.  So Gullands would advise you do not send confidential emails, if you need to they should be marked as confidential.

It is important that your employees know that excessive, unproductive use of the internet whilst at work can be seen as gross misconduct and they could be dismissed for this.

Property law from Gullands in Maidstone

When buying a property it is important to seek legal advice before transferring ownership, so should be drawn up in writing and accompanied by the completion of a Property transfer Deed which should be filed with the Land Registry, which is why it is important to have a trusted solicitor such as Gullands in Maidstone.

If there is a mortgage on the property, the Land Registry will usually ask the lender to provide a letter to confirm they are happy with the terms of transfer and changes to ownership. Any changes need to be given in writing such as someone being removed from the co-ownership.

When purchasing my house I found that Gullands solicitors in Maidstone were extremely helpful in assisting me, and it is highly advisable to instruct a specialist property lawyer to carry out the process.

Gullands solicitors attend Kent ploughing match

Recently Gullands solicitors teamed up with Cranbrook accountants, McCabe Ford Williams and entertained clients and their families at the annual Weald of Kent Ploughing Match in September for the 6th year in a row.

The country event attracted thousands who watched the many events such as modern, vintage, steam and horse ploughing in different classes, clay pigeon shoot, hop competition, trade machinery parade and displays by the Bolebrook Beagles, Warrenby Gundogs, and Ashford Valley Hunt.

As per out usual summer weather it rained but that did not deter the visitors, many came to see the Gullands solicitors stand who were offering beer.

The event was a great day out for Gullands and their clients and Gullands solicitors are making plans for the competitions later this year.

Recently Gullands were invited to attend the opening of the £14 million Gurdwara Sikh temple in May at Gravesend.

The place of worship is one of the largest in the UK, and has been worked on since 2002.  This is a great opportunity for Gullands to be involved with the Asian community.

Landlords must give deposit protection information

There are a lot of tenants on a shorthold tenancy, so it is important for landlords to follow obligations to protect their deposit and supply information.  Gullands solicitors can assist landlords with this.

There are two kinds of tenancy deposit schemes which Gullands solicitors practice; one is where the landlord sends the deposit to a deposit scheme administrator, which must be within fourteen days of receipt.  The other option is where the landlord keeps the deposit but has to pay an insurance fee to the scheme administrator.

Gullands solicitors can make sure that the landlord provides all information to the tenant and adheres to the scheme.  If not the landlord must pay the tenant three times the amount of the deposit as a penalty.

Gullands solicitors help many landlords in the Maidstone area with keeping within the compliance.
